About Great Bardfield Pre-School
Despite dramatic changes in the nature of education and moving to bigger, better purpose-built premises, the basic aims have not changed. We continue to offer stimulating, safe and caring pre-school education and we are still managed by an enthusiastic committee of volunteers.
Our staff are well qualified and undergo regular courses to keep up to date with the latest thinking in early years learning.
We aim to provide one member of staff for every five children - though the minimum requirement is one to eight.
We are a registered charity and, thanks to National Lottery funding, in 1999 we opened our new bright cheery building in the grounds of Great Bardfield Primary School. We maintain a very close relationship with the School, and now we are next door neighbours, the transition to "big school" is even easier.
We welcome children aged 2 1/2 to five years. All are treated as individuals and it's our goal to broaden their horizons and help them learn through play to develop their emotional. social. intellectual, physical and cognitive skills. We are registered under the Children's Act 1989 and validated by the Department for Education and Employment (DfEE) and by Ofsted.
